Making a sustainable garden from scratch
When Professor Clive and wife Marion bought a run down farmhouse in Herefordshire, they knew as they developed the hectare of garden, they would want to make it as environmentally sustainable as it was possible to do. Clive takes you through the work and the successes, the trials and the failures. He works through water storage on a grand scale, being self sufficient in electricity production (wind and Sun), least co2 emitting machinery, minimising the use of chemicals, tree planting and more. Clive tells an illustrated story of aspiration and disappointment, cooperation and struggle alone, encounters with footpath officers and other wildlife. The first five years were full of realisation, and the following ten years of gratification!
